The Original Chinatown Tour

Our most popular and award-winning tour! Explore Boston's historic Chinatown through tastings, culture, and history on this intimate small-group experience. You'll visit an herbalist shop, explore a Chinese grocery, sample sweet and savory treats from beloved local vendors, and hear stories of immigrant resilience and community joy. The tour ends with an authentic dim sum meal enjoyed together.

Led by Jacqueline Church—a passionate educator with deep knowledge of Chinese culture and food—you'll receive personal insights, local history, and insider tips shared in a lively and engaging way. You’ll leave feeling as though you've traveled to another destination, with a customized guide to Chinatown for future adventures.

  • When: Saturdays at 10:00 a.m.

    Duration: The tour covers approximately 1 mile of walking at a leisurely pace with frequent stops for tastings and storytelling. Expect to spend about 3 hours on the walking portion, plus additional time for dim sum.

    Group Size: a maximum of ten (10) guests and a minimum of four (4) guests is required for the tour to run

    Want the tour all to yourself? You can book the entire Saturday public tour exclusively for your group! When booking, select "Book entire tour" and you'll reserve all 10 spots for $1,300 total (regardless of how many people attend). Perfect for families, groups of friends, or anyone wanting a completely private experience on a Saturday.

    For private tours on other days (Sunday–Friday) at flexible times for 2–10 guests, please book our Private Tour option instead.

  • If the tour doesn't meet the 4 guest minimum, we'll contact you before the tour date and happily reschedule you to another Saturday at no charge. You'll never be charged for a tour that doesn't run.

    Children under 2 are welcome to join free of charge. Please be mindful of other guests' experience and consider your child's attention span and patience before booking.
